What: ATLAS DE INNOVACIÓN CIUDADANA (Atlas of Civic Innovation)
Publication of exemplary initiatives that are solving social, economic or environmental challenges. Each story was a graphic representation of a process of change that included practical “how-to’s” to encourage the readers to replicate the initiative.
Worked with Mexico City’s government and world-class critical artist Pedro Reyes, to create a social design toolkit of stories of change. I was involved as a creative partner and producer in every step of the editorial process.
Role: Project Coordinator, interviewer, editor, finances, recruiting, partnerships.
Results: Made interviews and in-depth research of 100 stories of cultural change in the country. Distributed over 50,000 printed copies.
Mexico City, 2009
“Every poster shows an innovative idea translated into social results. It enumerates the actors that participated and the phases that they went through. This step-by-step explanation is presented as a story that is easy to assimilate, and to relate to, as the testimonies are narrated directly by the agents of transformation. A great part of the discourse of citizenship has been centered on our rights, but the eloquence of these practices stems from the ability of showing the citizen’s responsibilities. Not responsibilities that have been dictated, but groups or individuals that find in their work a sense of urgency, products of an act of conscience: If I don’t do it, no one will. ”
