Mindful mornings is a time to set aside the busyness that we drown ourselves in, and really be present with one another. Its a time to create, to brainstorm, and be mindful about the way we treat our bodies and live day to day. Along with Kara Dykert, an incredible table-gatherer, we collaborated to create a morning of slowing down, setting an intention, eating well together, and getting our creative juices flowing.
We convened artists, dancers, designers and entrepreneurs to share a morning of mindful habits that conduce to creative flow. Started by settling into presence and mind-body integration through dynamic movement and vinyasa yoga flow. Then settled into deep relaxation and mindfulness meditation. After tuning into our body rhythms and opening the organs for optimal absorption, we shared our favorite nutrient-dense and easy to make recipe: the ultimate Green Smoothie. (Get the recipe here). Engaging all our senses we learned how to best nourish our bodies and boost our energy levels every morning.
We sat on the floor to create with our hands, to unleash our creativity and let the imagination flow. Insights about patterns, visions and dreams emerged.
This part of the workshop was inspired by the artist Ali Naschke Messing . "I work with light and reflection to talk about perception and presence, to illuminate what is always there but is not necessarily obviously visible. Being present in the making and hopefully creating environments and work for others to be present in."
