Maricarmen is a social designer that uses the creative process to facilitate transformative innovation. As Memetica, her consulting practice, she studies how culture evolves through an ethnographic/ evolutionary biology and systems thinking perspective and translates these trends into business opportunities.
Her function is to be a memetic bridge builder. A true ‘enthusiast’, she helps teams increase their adaptive capabilities, by working both vertically and horizontally; she facilitates interpersonal dynamics and organizational design, as well as scenario planning, operations and strategic future thinking.
She started her strategic foresight, branding and research practice at Idea Couture an Innovation Consultancy and Experience Design Firm, helping Fortune 500 companies apply innovation processes within; she worked with Ashoka, the global network of social entrepreneurs, enabling the creation of new social business practices; she also co-founded Atlas of Citizen’s Innovation, a stories platform of Mexico’s future cultural change.
During her time at the MBA in Design Strategy she applied human center design, market insights, sustainability and strategic foresight with organizations such as The Hub, the San Francisco Office of Innovation, Burning Man Project and the Sharing Economy labs.
Her 9 years of experience facilitating Yoga, Buddhist meditation, Ayurveda and Authentic dance, has rooted her work in a deep empathy for the conscious embodied experience, having a true passion to design better interactions between social systems, technology and human relationships.
She is currently focused on bridging the wisdom of ancient philosophies, advances in neuroscience and startup infrastructure, to develop engaging experiential education for the 21st century leaders.
