I met Valery Casey at Designing for Social Change at CCA last may. Today I stumbled into this video that reminded how much I admire her work in this path of innovation that responds to “shifting social needs and market trends, and then creates new products and services and relationships that respond smartly to those shifts.”
Before starting her own practice, Necessary Projects, in San Francisco, she held executive leadership positions at IDEO, frog, and Pentagram. Casey was named a “Guru” of the year by Fortune magazine, a “Hero of the Environment” by TIME magazine, a “Master of Design” by Fast Company, and one of the “World’s Most Influential Designers” by BusinessWeek. The World Economic Forum has honored Casey as a “Young Global Leader”. (via Valerie Casey)
