Skinput: Appropriating the Body as an Input Surface (CHI 2010) (by Chris Harrison)

Now we can literally talk with our hands. I’ve been thinking of developing a system where you use your body language to interact with your computer and your virtual life. I envision a day where I no longer need to be sitting down typing this message, but dancing in my studio while I write emails, poetry or even perhaps an opera, just by synchronizing my movement and my somatic experience with sensors that interpret my vital signs. Who can introduce me to engineers in this field?
