Through this interpretive dance, Mari uses rhythm and movement to explore our perception of time, presence and future realities. This piece on embodied philosophy tries to provoke a non-linguistic discourse on the dilemmas of our networked digital identities.

"Prompted to find harmony, we honor the legacy of the past inside of us, and try to embody the paradoxical polarities of our being. We engage in a collective temporal distortion to attend the multifaceted potentialities of our future self." MS
Coming from the left, we embrace the Past: it's learnings, it's gifts, it's dowry. We bring them forth to the Present, the center. In the Present, we exist in circles, in tension, in duality. And then the Future propels us forward to the unknown. In the Future, all of our multi-dimensional being takes form, just as a mandala of potentiality.
This is a piece that was created as part of a summer learning experiment with Wisdom Hackers, a collective of young thinkers, artists, activists and entrepreneurs who like you, are facing common global problems, from mass consumption to digital overload. I was particularly interested in exploring how our notion of Self has changed due to our digital economies, and how our identity, our presence and our notion of time has shifted.
